Alphabet art

C-H-O-K-E
For this assignment I had to take photos of objects that look like letter. The resulting letters will spell out the word of my choice, which was “choke”. Most of the best shots I had were objects inside the school. The reason for that is there are not a number of items in my house that looked like the required letters. I had to make the letter “k” using three knifes from my kitchen because I couldn’t find an object that resembled that letter. Using macro media, I edited the photos to the black & white shade liking. I like the way my art came out.

“Why shoot in black & white"

Why do people show an interest in black & white photography? Photos and images have been in black and white since the old times so why are people going back to the old method? Some people think that when color is removed from an image, it adds something more to a photo. Black & white photos can add depth and emotion to an image. Some people think that color actually takes attention away from the subject in the image because we as a sociality are obsessed with color instead of the subject.
In my opinion, I like black and white photography. The fact that an image is shot in black and white, makes the image look bold. It does add emotion to the photo and makes it look more interesting. Color is starting to seem boring to me because it’s over used in today society. I would love to see more black and white images make a comeback.
